Japan Visa Requirements Profile 1

1. Original passport valid for at least six months

2. Accomplished application form
Tips:
- Download it here
- Print in A4 size
- All information were computerized except for the signature that was handwritten.

3. Two pieces ID picture
- Actual size: 4.5 cm x 4.5 cm (in centimeters), 2 x 2 (in inches), 45 mm x 45 mm (in millimeters)
- White background
- Profile 1's picture had to be retaken. The travel agency noticed that it was not that clear. Make sure you go to Kodak or other mainstream photo shops for guaranteed clear photos.
- Paste one ID picture on the designated box in the application form

4. Original birth certificate from NSO
- Make sure it is valid within the year

5. Daily itinerary in Japan
The image above is a sample Japan itinerary.

Tips:
- Print in A4 size
- You may search and get ready-made itineraries online, but I suggest that you create your own. Not only this serves as a tourist visa requirement but also a helpful daily guide.
- Once in Japan, you don't necessarily have to follow everything in the submitted itinerary. You may remove or add places. You may move from one city to the other.
- If going to Japan as a group, you may just print one copy of the itinerary. It is understood that you all have similar itineraries. It would be better to put this applicant’s papers on top.

6. Bank Certificate
-A bank certificate is a proof that you have an account in a bank. It is usually a single page containing the current balance in the account.

Tips:
- Make sure the following are included: account type, current balance, account opening date, and annual daily budget (ADB)
- Make sure that the amount in the bank account can sustain the daily expenses in Japan PER PERSON. Set at least 5,000 PHP budget per day in Japan. We showed at least 50,000 PHP in the bank account per person.
- If you have other bank accounts aside from your payroll account, prefer to do so. The key is to present an account that you seldom withdraw from. This strengthens your financial stability, proving that you have other source of funds aside from your payroll account.
- Bank certificates may be requested from any bank. As far as I know, BDO and BPI both charge 100 PHP processing fee and claimed on the next day.

7. Certificate of employment (COE)

Tips:
- Print in A4 size
- You usually get a COE from your company’s Human Resources. I suggest that you tell them that the purpose is for tourist visa so that they can put complete details in the COE

8. Income Tax Return (ITR) or Form 2316

Tips:
- Print in A4 size
- ITRs are released as early as April. With this, applying in January-March will give you the ITR from last year and applying in April-December will give you the ITR of the current year
- Do not forget your signature and date signed in the ITR

9. Flight bookings
Confirmed two-way flight details

Tip:
- If going to Japan as a group on the same flight, you may just print one copy of the flight details. It would be better to put this applicant’s papers on top.

10. Accommodation bookings

Tips:
- Either confirmed booking or online reservation is fine. Just make sure that the duration of stay in the accommodation matches your declared duration of stay in Japan.
- We booked an Airbnb apartment in Tokyo. You may also do so. Check the listing here.
- If going to Japan as a group and staying at the same place, you may just print one copy of the booking. It would be better to put this applicant’s papers on top.
